Dalkia is a leading company when it comes to energy efficiency services in Europe. We are the energy division of the French group Veolia Environnement in partnership with Electricité de France - EDF. Uniting the philosophy of these two great companies, our essence extends beyond energy to include a concern and respect for the environment.
As Dalkia's main representative in Brazil, how would you present the company?
What is Brazil's importance for Dalkia on a global scale?
Since the beginning, Brazil has played a highly important role for the Dalkia operations worldwide. Besides the geographic dimension, Brazil holds a strategic position in the region. In terms of business opportunities, Brazil presents some excellent perspectives among the subsidiaries worldwide, since it is ranked second in number of employees. Dalkia offers solutions that can significantly help the companies operating in the country in a range of different segments. Furthermore, Brazilian diversity creates some enormous expectations for the development and dissemination of the use of biomass as an energy source.
How can we define energy efficiency services?
The concept of energy efficiency includes all alternatives that can be used to optimize energy consumption. The efficiency can result from investments in equipment that consume less energy, the change or use of different energy sources, different ways of purchasing energy or through the establishment of energy use control mechanisms.
Dalkia has unique expertise when it comes to operating installations with the most diverse types of energy sources. Accordingly, we are able to operate in the three main chain divisions: Purchase - which includes the types of energy acquisition or generation; Transformation - associated with equipment that transforms these sources of energy; and Use - or in other words, ways of consuming this energy.
Which companies can seek energy efficiency services?
Optimizing energy consumption should be a concern shared by all companies, regardless of their size or area of operation. For larger energy consumers, such as industries, it is a constant concern, since it directly affects production. In Brazil, Dalkia chose five priority segments. In addition to the industrial sector, we also operate in in the areas of commercial developments, shopping centers, educational centers, hospitals and health institutions.
What are Dalkia's perspectives for operating in Brazil?

In line with Dalkia's global operations, we have also grown in the areas of industries, hospitals and teaching institutions.
